" Journey's far, but it was all well worth the trip. "
brace yourself, its gonna be a long one.
it was Cheng's house warming party as she has just moved into her new house at Glenmarie Cove in Teluk Gong. at the same time, her family decided to throw in the birthday celebrations as well. and so i was invited, by my sifu. haha!
at 4pm, chris, ying wei, giju and i started our journey towards the unknown as we have never been to the place and we were only provided with a minimap along with the invitation card. approx 30minutes drive, we made a wrong turn into some shoplots as the signboard leading into the area was pretty misleading, but no complains we made it to the right place at last. the guards at the guardhouse were actually saluting us! wow.
along the journey, chris has just gotten his Canon EOS 400D while ying wei was with his Nikon D80. and so the conversation goes ...
Chris and Ying Wei : *throwing camera facts at each other*
Me : aikz, i only have my Ixus 40. sad case betul kena pawned.
Giju : *looks at me* wow mine is better. *takes out motorola phone* mine VGA.
All : LOL.
note: picture from cheng's digital camera.
we were the firsts to arrive despite the time for the party to began was 6pm as stated on the invitation card. but well we were enthusiastic about the day and with two dSLRs ready for some hot actions, we decided to hit the road early, and tada we were there and we took a group photo.
ok so, we reached the area and cheng brought us for a walk around the lakeside.

the atmosphere around the area was fantastic and so was the scenery. of course, being dSLR users, chris and ying wei were flashing their cameras around shooting stuffs. then this management lady came up to us and sent us a warning that cameras are strictly off limits which then later followed by a guard issuing us another warning . =.=
ok. right. no cameras. crap they thought we are some competitors trying to steal their layout ideas of the area. ahh so being a prosumer camera user, i now have the advantage of taking sneak shots lol. the above house was owned by a south african, who also owns 3 houses in total in the area. dang. -.- blardy rich asses. xDDD.

the concepts of houses are similar to that of Sri Damai. yes, also without gates and fences. well okay, certain parts there are no gates or fences. but areas like the above, they have. i guess they could actually build it themselves if they want to.
anyway, fast forward back to cheng's house. we were having a mini camwhoring modeling session. since chris and ying wei looked like some professional photographers with the dSLR, they just played along with the role. ahh well, with ixus 40 ... do i look like i will miss out on the opportunity xD.

it was a miracle none of our camera lenses break as cheng is very well known for her camwhoring skills xDDD haha. the car shots were pretty satisfying, i dont know i found it pretty nice. and yea that's cheng's myvi if ur wondering lol. after all that we took a group picture with chris being the cameraman.

giju. cheng. me. ying wei.
*taken using christopher's EOS 400D* there were a total of more than 70 guests who were present, of course the total amount consists of cheng's college friends and us and mainly relatives and parents' friends. some of our friends couldn't made it due to some last minute blockages.
and so we went back into the house to take a more detailed look at the interior of the house. it was actually quite beautifully decorated, it managed to give a homely feeling and it definitely felt comfortable. the kitchen especially xD food's the way to a man's heart. LOL damn right.

the last one was taken with the K800i where i was switching between cameras to compare the differences in the sharpness and all. apparently the K800i pictures looked sharper than the Ixus 40's, but this might be due to the smaller screen size of the LCD. anyway, i remained with the ixus as the K800i was for emergency purposes just incase the ixus ran out of battery or storage spaces. the ixus also provides me a better grip as well.
and so we went upstairs. cheng personally brought us on an entourage to her room. no pictures here as her privacy must be respected. anyway, there was another living room outside of her room. we remained there for the time being and another photo shooting session took place.

then i decided to switch my attention onto the other two.

yes, the two professionals of the night.

oh no, they've spotted me. xD
after a long chat and shooting, we finally decided to go out and catch some fresh air. cheng's elder sister mum gave us the green light to start devouring feasting. and so we took our places and took turns to grab our food by the table. since it was a catering style, so basically everything was buffet. no pictures of food. lol storage space was pretty limited therefore i shall not waste it on food roflmao. anyway, the food was great. =D

*stares at cheng* ok la certified tak tahu guna dSLR *cop cop!* hahahahah xDDD. eh joke wei cheng, jangan chop saya! lol. kk we shall aim for dSLRs. haha!
rafferty and kher jie arrived while we were half way enjoying the food. after greeting the birthday girl, they came over to join us. and so they too went off to grab their share of the food.
finally it was time for the traditional ritual to kick in.

the sing-birthday-song-make-wish-blow-candles-cut-cake ceremony. the design was indeed unique as it was a combination of two different cakes into one single fray. both were chocolate cakes, only the bottom one was white chocolate.

i wish for a white knight with the looks of brad pitt and taiwanese hot hunks who would go against all odds and ride against the wind all the way from the far west to glenmarie cove, klang and rescue me and we shall live happily ever after.
ok that was basically crap. xD
we took a break from photo takings after that and we rejoined the others to catch up on each others' recent encounters and activities and of course the discussion of several current issues and sports news.
the night wasn't over as cheng once again brought guests upstairs, only difference was this time, it was a whole lot bunch which includes the four of us, raff, kher jie and all her college friends.
the ones i went with.
i still think ying wei somehow looked like a runaway convict xD which rafferty then added 'with a stolen camera' LOL. we then went downstairs to join in the excited atmosphere created by cheng herself as she was to open her presents lol.

the collaboration of funds by me and ying wei.

the sweat and blood of a caring friend, chris.

the joint efforts of a bunch of wacky college mates.
there were of course more pictures but i guess the post is getting abit too long here, ahaha shall skip the others =D we then went for night walk towards the lakeside. we made it to the piers this time where several yatchs were attached.

i took this from the pier with the aid of the side pole for more stability of the shot. i looked at it and thought that the place looked like we were under some alien invasion lol. and you know, Sinking of Japan those sort of stuffs hahaha. anyway, thats the most the ixus can go and it still couldnt work well at night. maybe i wasnt good at operating it. which clearly shows .... i need a dSLR too -.- ok wait, maybe a semi-pro camera is sufficient. aaaarrgh, i m confused lol. but its definitely time for an upgrade for the ixus 40.
we went back to cheng's house after the short chat at the pier. it was pretty scary as there were no barriers at both sides which means any accidents of pushing may result in any of us falling off into the lake. aikz, i really dont want that to happen lol.
a group picture of ex-SMK USJ 12 students to mark the end of the day.
we went home at 11pm. the original scheduled time for us to go home was 10pm but apparently there was a delay (my parents were responsible for sending us back) and we ended up going home late. but i have gotta agree ... it was fun.
