Tying the Knot | Sunday, April 22, 2007
" Marriage, is a never ending promise. "
21st April, 2007. my cousin sister had finally decided to tie the knot with her fiance, Stanley Ku. the wedding ceremony began at 11am and i was forced to miss it due to Malaysian Studies -.- i was unable to skip it as we were told that a quiz that will contribute 10% to the final result is going to be given. turned out the quiz got postponed to the following week -.-"
anyway, wasn't too late for the tea presenting ceremony when i rushed home from college =D.
let's fast forward to the dinner at night, shall we? ^^
i was pretty much involved in ushering and being my cousin sister's photographer. so we had to reach the restaurant way ahead of others to make early preparations. the dinner was held at Tai Thong Imperial China, SS17.
the setting was picture perfect. spotted a familiar face staring at me while i was busy helping my mum with the preparations. and it struck my mind, that it was Mei Yee. haha, i waved and got back the same reply. anyway, crowd started pouring in shortly after. and immediately we are thrown with tasks such as ushering people to their places, taking photos of the crowd, entertaining friends and relatives, etc. the bride and the bridegroom.
hmm you could say i grew up along with cousing Vivian, and she's the closest cousin compared to many others since she is used to stay overnight at my house sometimes since she's studying here in the Peninsular while her hometown's back in Sandakan, Sabah. and to see her getting married is like ......... haha i have no idea how to describe the feelings, but its a good one =)
some of the ' zhi mui's ' (close friends)
being one of the photgraphers on duty, (there was one with a Canon DSLR 400D =O) i was pratically walking around taking shots of people from many walks of life.
more ' zhi mui's '
i took the oppurtunity to mingle with many and of course assisting my cousin sister in some photo takings. and i got to know the guy with the DSLR, he was humble enough to proclaim himself as a beginner. =)
family photo
couldn't miss the chance to take a photo with my family members, what's more in a wedding dinner than family reunions and stuff like that ei? =D
parents of both sides then it was time for the couple to cut the wedding cake and fill up the champagne fountain, as it is usually done in most chinese wedding dinners with the emcee first introducing the newly wed to the stage to perform the ceremony.
"let our love flow ..." dinner was served and i managed to grab enough to fill my stomach and resumed taking photos for others and of course got involved in some of the photos as well. haha ;-) "pretty girls must take more pictures ..." as i told her, before attempting to take pictures with her xD.
Jasmine, whom i was introduced to the night before the wedding by cousin Vivian as she dropped by along with Vivian in my house for dinner, along with my Sandakan relatives. group pictures =D friends from both sides were supportive in making the dinner a success. some enjoyed forcing the groom to finish a glass full of red wine, until a certain point where he has to turn to me for help xD but was cut off by his friends, haha! girls are always close to each other, ei?
the dinner wrapped up at 11pm, and all of us returned home feeling satisfied and happy with the food, the setting, the people ... and most of all, for Stanley and Vivian. Congratulations!
