the last day of the year. what a year it has been.
never had i thought time would just passed this fast, 11 years of primary cum secondary education has came to an end. and now, 2006 ... the year that ended it all, is bringing down its curtains. SPM became the main highlight of the year. however aside from the pressure in facing the most important exam of all times, i have learned to enjoy every day's learning process even more. with friends and all, it has made it all a wonderful year.
i have led the scouts in march pass this year, which i have never did. i have joined in the makings of What's That?! our Winzipian Ghost House, which was an experience not to forget. i have forged even greater friendship with existing friends and also newfound friends, which will be an asset in my path ahead. i had ended my secondary schooldays being a prefect, which i failed to do so during primary schooldays. i have completed the SPM examination ... which was pretty much every form 5's target from the start of the year.
2007. the year that will mark the beginning of another chapter in my life.
CAT in Sunway University College? 2007 shall mark the start of my journey towards ACCA. i never really had a goal in secondary school, everyday was just like ..... everyday. the same routine. all for the sake of studying, getting good results, knowing new friends, and respecting teachers. but for now, ever since i signed the registration form to apply for the CAT programme ... the goal is there to be achieved.
nevertheless, 2007 will also mark the separation of several friendship. n also the forgery of new found friendship. however, no matter how far all of us are bonded by hearts. ar heck, as technology suggests ... we do have msn ^^
anyway ... may 2007 prove to be a wonderful year for all. Happy New Year! Happy 2007!

The New Chapter begins | Sunday, December 24, 2006

Course Applied : Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)
Commencement Date : 8th of January, Monday Orientation Day : 5th of January, Friday
My journey towards ACCA has begun. Completed the registration yesterday, decided to pick January intake due to several reasons. Well, wish me luck.
P.S. - i have deferred the National Service programme due to doctor's advice that i shouldn't go for it first until he is sure of what is goin on with my leg. Blood test has been taken ... aikz, so let's wait for the results.

Primary Reunion 2006 | Saturday, December 23, 2006
It was a great time spending time with the friends u made in the 6 years in ur primary school life. well for ur info, in Lick Hung we didnt have this rotation system, so who we meet in std 1 will last all the way till std 6. Kudos to Wai Hou for taking the initiative to organise this wonderful gathering at Summit Hotel, where we had a wonderful lunch. About 22 of us turned up, haha almost half of our class that is. =)

It is the time of my life, where i have reached a road divided into two. I m faced with two great choices in my life. ACCA in Sunway ... or ... CPA in Metropolitan?
Allow me to clarify things :
Sunway University College (UK Programme)
Route to ACCA (Association of Certified Chartered Accountants) :
CAT (Certified Accounting Technician) [1 year] - ACCA [3 years] - Min. 3 years working experience - MIA (Malaysian Institute of Accountants) member - ACCA member.
Duration :
4 years min. depending on how long u take to finish the ACCA papers (College), however upon completing ACCA Part 2 u are allowed to work while finishing ur ACCA Part 3.
Course Fee (all in all) :
RM 40,000 +/- (CAT - less than RM 10,000 / ACCA - RM 30,000)
Advantages :
Short Period (as in 4 years), Professional Status, Internship (in Big Four*), Ernst & Young Award, Good Job Security, Prestigious Study Environment, Huge Campus, Shorter Distance from House to Campus.
Disadvantages :
Hardcore Studying Effort Needed, More Homework Less Courseworks/Assignments, Exams in every 6 Months, Failure in any paper resulting in the inability to proceed further.
* Big Four - it means the top four accounting firm in malaysia. the Current top four are PriceWaterHouseCoopers, KPMG, Ernst & Young and Deloitte.
Metropolitan College (Australian Programme)
Route to CPA (Certified Practising Accountants) :
UFP (University Foundation Program)[1 year] - Curtin/RMIT Accounting Degree [3 years] - Min. 3 years working experience - CPA examination (6 papers) - MIA member - CPA member.
Duration :
4 years (College)
Course Fee (all in all) :
RM 70,000 +/- (UFP - RM 7,000 / Accounting Degree - RM 60,000)
Advantages :
Fun Approach to studies (Australian Programme, well basically it meant not-so-hardcore lol), More Courseworks/Assignments Less Homework, Professional Status, Internship (RMIT only), Prestigious College Links (Curtin & RMIT), Curtin Merit Award (AUSD 12,000), The Prefect Scholarship (20% off), NS Trainee Rebate (RM1,000), SPM Merit Award up to RM 2,500, nearby Asia Cafe (Food is secured, lol).
Disadvantages :
Longer Period to acheive Professional Status, unable to work unless completion of degree programme is acheived, Longer Distances from House to Campus.
at the moment, i cant really chose between the two. Part of me wanted to take ACCA while part of me wanted to go for CPA. argh .... advices?? Metro or Sunway????

okay ...... i guess i owe u guys an explanation for unknowingly disappear for a week.
allow me to reveal what has been going on. Sorry to disappoint u Chris, i didn't get slapped from my girlfriend, besides i m stil very much single lol.
alrite, here goes. i haven't been able to walk for a week already. i guess some of u might already know. here's what happened. i first thought i had a crack in my metatarsal bone in my right foot, well it sure felt like it. but anyway ... since i didn't undergo any x-rays i couldn't really determine the reason of my unknown injury. the reason i thought it was a crack because i suffered something similar back in form 2 which kinda took me out for 3 weeks. however, in this case .... with god's almighty blessing i m finally able to walk now, a littlt by little so it wasn't a crack.
then what was it? to be honest, i couldn't be sure. the only thing i m clear of is that on last tuesday morning, it just felt pain. and the pain just went on, till i wasn't able to walk, at all. well, u guys couldn't possibly feel the agony i have been through, having to see my chance of visiting singapore for the first time just slipped away without an actual reason. and the pain was agonising enough i was sure it kinda felt like the end of the world.
i've missed planetshakers again. sigh. last year i missed it because i was at work and i couldn't get a leave from my supervisor, since it was the year-end sale so everything was hectic.
hehe, sorry for worrying u guys. i truly am. but then again its december. the end-of-the-year-syndrome is onto me again. haha if u guys noticed enough, there wasn't any post at all in this blog for december 2005.
my mom was worried stiff after this unknown injury whether am i fit enough to undergo the training for National Service. though i honestly wanted to go. but then i think i need to get a doctor to check my physical condition. pray for me, people.
